HOT TIP TUESDAY

Each week I bring to you helpful tips to become a more effective educator on the Always A Lesson fan page on Facebook. (Give it a quick like by clicking here!) I decided to start grouping my social media posts into a blog post incase you might have missed anything.

Time to get caught up:

  1. Cover your classroom library paperback books with used paper grocery bags = last longer.
  2. Ditching your desk may be the best gift you could give your students- your time and full attention.
  3. Place anchor charts on hangers on a clothes rack for easy access and organization.
  4. Attendance Made Easy= Take Ss pics and place on the Smart Board. Ss drag their pic to “present.”
  5. Ask Ss how they want the classroom library organized as users- alphabetical, genre, topic, etc.
  6. Contact parents weekly, especially about the good stuff. You’re a team and need each other.
  7. Tape discussion sentence starters to desks for easy access and reference
  8. Print Ss rosters and use for data collection, attendance, behavior etc. One system- Many Purposes
  9. Check your baggage at the classroom door- shout it out before the kiddos come & don’t let it come in
  10. Manage behavior at entry by standing one foot in the classroom and one in the hallway- all eyes!

(*note: these posts are sent out via BUFFER so they follow Twitter’s rules for word count and I had to get creative!)

Stay tuned for the next edition coming out in one month!
