Hot Tip Tuesday- 1st Edition
HOT TIP TUESDAY
Each week I bring to you helpful tips to become a more effective educator on the Always A Lesson fan page on Facebook. (Give it a quick like by clicking here!) I decided to start grouping my social media posts into a blog post incase you might have missed anything.
Time to get caught up:
- Cover your classroom library paperback books with used paper grocery bags = last longer.
- Ditching your desk may be the best gift you could give your students- your time and full attention.
- Place anchor charts on hangers on a clothes rack for easy access and organization.
- Attendance Made Easy= Take Ss pics and place on the Smart Board. Ss drag their pic to “present.”
- Ask Ss how they want the classroom library organized as users- alphabetical, genre, topic, etc.
- Contact parents weekly, especially about the good stuff. You’re a team and need each other.
- Tape discussion sentence starters to desks for easy access and reference
- Print Ss rosters and use for data collection, attendance, behavior etc. One system- Many Purposes
- Check your baggage at the classroom door- shout it out before the kiddos come & don’t let it come in
- Manage behavior at entry by standing one foot in the classroom and one in the hallway- all eyes!
(*note: these posts are sent out via BUFFER so they follow Twitter’s rules for word count and I had to get creative!)
Stay tuned for the next edition coming out in one month!
