5 Twitter Hashtags Worth Following
I’ve spent the last two years diving in to Twitter chats. It’s provided the best professional development I could have ever had as a teacher and leader- and it’s free! I’ve met some great mentors and colleague buddies along the way too.
I’ve seen others share their favorite list of websites, bloggers or even hashtags for their followers to check out. So, since I’ve found Twitter chats to be a worthwhile investment, here’s my list of educational hashtags you should check out:
#edchat- Individuals discuss educational policies in the US. If you love politics and policy, this is a great place to find likeminded people.
#educoach- For those educators in leadership/coaching roles this chat is for you. Educators share tips on how to be a more effective coach in order to help teachers become more successful in their classroom.
#nced- Educators in North Carolina, this is the chat for you! Discuss all things occurring in education right here in the Carolinas.
#ntchat – For any new or aspiring teachers, come see what teaching is all about. Veteran teachers chime in, but the community is dedicated to any and all newbies.
#tptchat- Teachers Pay Teachers is a website many teachers use to sell or purchase teaching materials made by real teachers. This chat is mostly dedicated to sellers coming together to discuss tips and tricks of the business in order to become more successful.
Post a comment using one of these hashtags any day you wish, but each hashtag has a weekly chat where all are invited to log on to Twitter at the same time and a moderator will ask questions in relation to that hashtag’s purpose. (ex. Tptchat might ask “What product is your most popular and why?”) This is where you learn from others and get lots of helpful tips! They are usually an hour long and the time passes by so quickly!
