Thrifty Thursday

Each week I bring to you helpful tips to become a more effective educator on the Always A Lesson fan page on Facebook. (Give it a quick like by clicking here!) I decided to start grouping my social media posts into a blog post incase you might have missed anything.

Time to get caught up:

  1. If you must spend money, purchase items that have multiple uses in the classroom
  2. Turn student chairs upside down, add a comfy pillow and you have yourself a reading nook!
  3. Covering classroom seating? Forget new fabric. Snag unused pillow cases!
  4. Forget desk name plates. Masking tape + dry erase marker does the trick. Easy to make changes!
  5. Snag unused PVC piping to create a DIY Easel Board. Just add a rectangular shower wall from Home Depot!
  6. Save cereal boxes. Indiv. cover in wrapping paper. Stack. Wrap a layer to keep together = Student mailboxes!
  7. Forget those perfect storage containers, grab old boxes, and decorate with patterned duct tape!
  8. Need a paperclip & can never find one? Are your paperclips forever a messy pile? Thread them through a binder ring!
  9. For flexible seating, lower a table and add cushions or put the table on bed risers for a standing desk!
  10. A cheap personalized touch= Decorate your T desk with contact paper and bulletin board borders

(*note: these posts are sent out via BUFFER so they follow Twitter’s rules for word count and I had to get creative!)

Stay tuned for the next edition coming out in a few weeks!
