Thrifty Thursday- 2nd Edition

Thrifty Thursday

Each week I bring to you helpful tips to become a more effective educator on the Always A Lesson fan page on Facebook. (Give it a quick like by clicking here!) I decided to start grouping my social media posts into a blog post incase you might have missed anything.

Time to get caught up:

  1. Post-its are expensive. When reading, Ss can make notes in a graphic organizer for their thoughts
  2. No mini white boards? Use dry erase markers on the tops of Ss desks and wipe clean afterwards
  3. Left over materials & supplies can be a blessing to another T. Set up a swap day mult times in the yr
  4. Donor’s Choose is a fantastic way to fund your current project. http://buff.ly/1M4IBBg
  5. Can’t afford to keep buying your Ss pencils? Swap their shoe for a pencil. They won’t go missing now!
  6. Lined paper can be graph paper. Half the lines are already there
  7. Spring cleaning! Ask kiddos’ parents for items they no longer need- storage, games, books etc
  8. Have Ss bring in old white tshirts and decorate with your team theme to celebrate the year
  9. Issues with younger kiddos broken shoelaces? Reuse short ones by only threading every other hole
  10. Popsicle sticks are great flashcards. Ask parents for washed donations! The Ss won’t mind helping!

(*note: these posts are sent out via BUFFER so they follow Twitter’s rules for word count and I had to get creative!)

Stay tuned for the next edition coming out in a few weeks!
