Ode to my 100th Post

100

Hip Hip Hooray!!  This is my 100th post since the conception of “Always A lesson” blog. I am so happy I have arrived at this milestone. I have learned a lot about blogging and teaching through this reflective hobby of mine. I can only hope my readers have benefited as well!

In honor of my 100th post, I am going to give thanks to my profession in a unique way!

O-pen my mind to endless possibilities. Each year is different because each group of children is different.  Be okay with not always having it figured out.

N-ever give up on the child that turns away, they are the one that needs me the most.

E-very child deserves my best intention, effort, and care.

H-umbling myself to showcase a “learner in progress” so that my students see the reward of hard work and having a dream; they’ll see that no one is perfect and that is a blessing.

U-nity as a classroom community will help weather any storm students face- we are family.

N-ew approaches to learning make the process fun and long-lasting in my student’s memories.

D-ream Big for myself so my students will follow in my footsteps.

R-ecognize the potential to make the world a better place by investing in the talent in my own classroom.

E-nergize lessons with movement because students learn best by doing, not by listening solely to my voice.

D-edicate a minute each day to connect personally with my students. Relationships power the initiative I am navigating and without it, I have no wind in my sails.

I love what I do. I am passionate about helping my students become their best selves so that when they enter the world they have the confidence to stay in the fight and change this crumbling world we currently live in. I love them each dearly and believe they can succeed because they are each worthy. Love you kiddos!  <3

To all the bloggers and educators out there, what have you learned along your journey?

About the author, Gretchen

I am a teacher trainer and coach. Working elbow to elbow with teachers and teacher leaders to ensure instructional proficiency and student achievement soar lights me up. We have a real need in our nation for strong educators to remain in the field. My blog, book, podcast, courses and instructional materials are geared towards empowering teachers (and those that lead them) to receive the support needed to grow and thrive today, tomorrow and always.
